Downtown Lusail is Doha’s new iconic uptown, the bustling epicentre of Lusail.

To the north of Doha, the City of Lusail extends over 38 square kilometres. About us




It was in 2005 that the vision for Lusail – a self-sufficient, environmentally sustainable, smart and connected city in the heart of Doha – was first conceived by Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company (Qatari Diar). Deriving its name and inspiration from one of Qatar’s rarest flowers, Lusail was envisioned as a model city of the future, at the intersection of Qatar’s heritage and its contemporary, urban transformation. Construction for the City commenced in 2008 and has since passed many milestones in bringing the Lusail vision to life. 

The driving force behind this city of the future, Qatari Diar was established in 2005 by the Qatar Investment Authority, the sovereign wealth fund of the State of Qatar. Under its wing, Lusail today stands as the country’s largest single development, with a four-fold vision: to improve lives, to inspire the nation, to raise a city, and to transform the urban landscape.
